The Bar Next Door

The Bar Next Door

On Monday, July 18th, I played at the “Bar Next Door” for the first time. I was performing with some great musicians and friends of mine; on guitar, Khabu Doug Young, and on bass, Bob Bowen. We had a blast playing jazz standards all night. I haven’t played a standards type of gig in years.

I have been teaching part-time at a jazz camp this summer and one of the students came to check out the show. I got her up to perform with me. Her name was Natalie and she is going to be a force to reckon with. She is only 15yrs old but she has a voice that will knock you out!

I had lots of fun and will be doing it again next month with my best pals Jacob Sacks and Thomas Morgan.

Playing at Merkin Hall Tonight

Playing at Merkin Hall Tonight

I am playing at Merkin Hall in NYC tonight for the BMI Big Band Composer’s Workshop Concert. I will be performing a great piece by a wonderful composer named Sherisse Rogers. The piece is called “A Slippery Slope” and it has been nominated for the composition of the year for this year’s workshop. I’m crossing my fingers for you Sherisse!

The concert is free tonight so come on by and listen to some great original works from some really talented composers.
