On Friday, January 14th, my best friend and pianist extrodinaire, Jacob Sacks, will be performing the first concert of his 2005 music series. The other performers on this night are Ben Gerstein and Jacob Garchik (trombones), Thomas Morgan (bass) and Dan Weiss (the killin’ drummer I wrote about last week). Actually, everyone who will be performing at this concert is quite exceptional, and that’s not just my opinion. Ask most people who have heard of these guys and they will tell you that it’s not an exaggeration – they’re happennin’!
The band will perform original compositions from Jacob Sacks and there will be two sets, 7:30pm and 8:30pm. The location is the “Friend’s Seminary” 15 Rutherford Place, NYC, NY (15th St. between 2nd and 3rd Ave). You can take the L train to 3rd Ave. Admission is $10.00 and I will be there to meet and greet and sell tickets. These musicians are well on their way to being too busy to get together and play music in NYC regularly anymore (Dan is already booked to be on the road touring all the way up to June). So come on out, support live music, and see a really great show.
