Last Saturday night I heard Lee Konitz at the Jazz Standard. Alot of my friends were performing in the group and I wanted to see the legendary Lee. The group was the Ohad Talmor Nonet which featured Lee Konitz’s and his music which Ohad had arranged.
I went to the 9:30pm set with my friends Jacob Sacks (best friend and greatest pianist I know), and Andrew Bishop (amazing classical composer and killin’ saxophonist/clarinetist). Our good friend Jacob Garchik (trombonist in 4inObjects) played an amazing solo on the piece “This Song is You” and Lee was amazing. The music was really great and I ate some ribs and some of the best macaroni and cheese I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Overall I had a great night.
